I am a Taiwan-born Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Los Angeles.
My intersectionality is complex as a CIS woman, an East Asian, a first-generation college student, an international student, an immigrant, a healer, and a scholar in training.
I have worked for different community-based social service agencies to improve the wellbeing of the minority population for more than 10 years. Other than this private practice, I am engaged with different projects and activities to promote mental health. With a variety of roles, I get to access different aspects of our collective living and witness healing and growth from different origins. That's why I am expanding my approaches to offer more opportunities for healing, including individual, couple, group psychotherapy, group supervision, Somatic Experiencing®, leadership coaching, consulting, and teaching.
I am trained in psychodynamic, interpersonal, Somatic Experiencing®, system psychodynamics, mindfulness, and social justice focused approaches. My specialty includes depression, anxiety, work stress, relationship and intimacy, family of origin, anger issues, trauma, neurodivergence, cross-cultural communication, micro-aggression, systemic discrimination, immigration, and first-generation struggles.
I enjoy psychotherapy as a way to help people because I have this precious opportunity to witness people's strength and resilience growing from within in the therapy space all the time!
Sometimes the world makes us feel small and helpless as if there is nothing we can do about it. And yet, I see so many people still fighting for themselves and their beloved ones; trying to heal their psychological wounds; working to cope with the side effects that come with the survival strategies; and thriving with their reborn freedom and reclaimed agency.
Physical wounds can heal and grow scars to make skin stronger for protection through delicate care. Psychotherapy works in the similar way with psychological wounds. Our end goal is to help you become more able to cope with your whatever you have been through. In order to achieve the goal, we work together and find the best way for your healing.
